Alexander karasev interview
ISTA Mr Karasev, thank you for agreeing to be the first interviewee in this series. We felt it was important to start with you, the originator and continuing developer of SCENAR. What motivated you to develop SCENAR? What is your vision for this technology? AK I initially developed the TENS machine, which, as you know, is designed to block pain. I don’t like to see unnecessary suffering. An incident of disease in my own family made me aware of some of the limitations of modern medicine and I resolved to develop a technology and device that would not only deal with difficult diseases, but would eventually help prevent the formation of diseases. In the table you publish below, I have shown the 7-stages of SCENAR development that have progressively brought me closer to my goal. ISTA As you are aware, there are now a multitude of organisations offering a range of SCENAR devices. How can we differentiate between genuine and non-genuine ones? AK I cannot agree with such a differentiation, to a certain extent all SCENARs are genuine to a certain extent. However, there are big differences regarding the quality of treatment provided. These are created not only due to different manufacturers, but also because of the different purposes the devices are intended for. My devices too have been designed for different purposes – it is not possible to create a GOOD device that is effective in all situations. When developing my series-3 models, I found that it was not possible to maintain the therapeutic effectiveness of the device in serial production due to difficulties in maintaining consisted accuracy in special feedback. I had to go back to the drawing board to re-design SCENAR suitable for mass-production and developed the concept of self-tuning by each device. Another device was found to have undesired effects in treatment when applied to populations South of the equator, and had to be allowed for in my development work. Some of the devices on sale today are still based on the technology that forced me back to the drawing board for almost 5-years; others are based on my self-tuning model and have introduced modifications of their own. But as you can see from the table below, I have made a quantum leap in design which takes SCENAR technology into a new dimension, which I have called COSMODIC and SCENAR-SCREEN. ISTA As you are painfully aware, the internationalisation of SCENAR has been accompanied by a lot of rivalry and many claims and counterclaims; the common denominator appears to have been an urgency to make money. How do you feel about this? AK Clearly I would have preferred the international spread of SCENAR to have been handled in a co-ordinated and calm way, but it coincided with a time of considerable upheaval in my country, which was reflected in the way the world was introduced to SCENAR. But there is a good side to the urge to make money too – without it, SCENAR would not have reached as many people as it now has. I hope that the emergence of ISTA, as a professional, international and neutral body, will help settle the turmoil of the past, which also exists here in Russia, so that we can let history be by-gone and can find ways of all working together towards alleviating suffering amongst all living beings. I believe that everybody will be able to make a comfortable living from my inventions if we share the vision and approach the solutions responsibly. ISTA The same diversity that exists amongst SCENAR manufacturers, also permeates the training on offer for SCENAR users and practitioners. Very many people who attend basic training courses never return for more training – and still claim successes in when treating others. Sometimes the message is projected that SCENAR substitute a trained medical practitioner. What are your views on this? AK Firstly, and I feel very strongly about this, SCENAR was never designed to heal all known diseases. SCENAR is yet another discipline in the emerging field of medication-free treatment of disease. It stands shoulder to shoulder with the other disciplines emerging in this field and complements some of the wonderful breakthroughs achieved in modern medicine. It is an unfortunate fact that too often many of these medical interventions get caught up in a need to maximise profits. I would remind you that SCENAR’s design has been motivated by the desire to develop a technology that will prevent disease from manifesting, and this continues to be my focus. A skills-partnership with SCENAR will show results over a much wider spectrum of diseases than the application of SCENAR alone. As to training, what can I say? With regard to SCENAR, I believe that currently only 3% of those who receive the various basic trainings on offer achieve optimal effectiveness from SCENAR; 20% achieve this with more advanced training; and between 55% & 60% achieve this after extended training. The bottom line is that anybody wishing to help others is being negligent towards this laudable objective by not availing themselves of all the training opportunities available. I am delighted to hear that ISTA will be working with senior trainers from everywhere to develop guidelines on what each level of training should aim to achieve. I appreciate that some of the approaches we use here in Russia will not suit many other countries, but the lessons we have learned should nevertheless be heeded. I also expect that different cultures will require different approaches, and welcome such diversity. I shall gladly work with ISTA in addressing this difficult area. Permit me here to say that my new COSMODIC range will, by design, make training much easier. I would also refer readers to the wonderful essay on SCENAR philosophy you publish in this site and written by Dr Yuri Gorfinkel – his view remains very valid. I would in particular draw attention to his concerns over excessive reliance on objective treatment modalities at the expense of the subjective, intuitive. ISTA You have said on other occasions that you designed your devices with self-treatment in mind. Is that possible? How, for instance, would you apply treatment to your spine? AK Yes, my devices have self-treatment in mind. From your question, you have not seen my devices – they are suitable for self-treatment on any appropriate part of the body. I believe that 70% of those who use my devices for self-treatment achieve good and acceptable results after simply reading my user manual. This does of course not suggest that somebody with a self-treatment manual is automatically fully equipped to treat another person. Appropriate training is always important. ISTA LET-Medical is a commercial company, wholly owned by you. Does this AK This is a fair question, and NO. I am involved in my own manufacturing and marketing company as this is the only way I can generate the money with which to fund my continuous research and development. Given appropriate secure funding I would happily remove myself from commercial responsibilities ISTA From some of your comments in this interview and previously, we get the impression that you welcome the formation of ISTA. Is this so, and why? AK Yes, you are correct. I very much welcome the establishment of ISTA as it will provide a long overdue international platform through which my invention can reach far beyond the boundaries of Russia and serve the global human family. Yes, I am proud of the fact that this technology was developed with scientific and medical colleagues from across Russia, but I truly believe that it is there to be shared amongst all peoples. I welcome ISTA very much, and have wanted an organisation such as this for years. I will support ISTA in any way I can, but I will also be its first critic if I feel it is straying from its function of promoting SCENAR and its successor, COSMODIC, in any way not compatible with its neutral, professional and international role. ISTA Alexander, thank you for your supportive words. In recognition of the huge amount of knowledge and experience with SCENAR and COSMODIC resident in Russia and the Ukraine, we are planning to open an ISTA representative office soon, possibly in Rostov-on-Don. What is your reaction? AK The sooner the better. ISTA We are sure that our members will have many questions arising from this interview AK Yes, within reason. My research and moving forward takes priority. ISTA When SCENAR was introduced in England, the importance of the healing triangle AK [Answer awaited] ISTA You mention skills-partnerships with SCENAR, have you and your medical team AK [Answer awaited] AK [Answer awaited] |
