Training

At this moment in time, few trainers have registered with ISTA.  This is in part because international training standards and standards for trainers are still under discussion and development.  It is nevertheless regrettable that the take-up rate of invitations to register with ISTA is relatively slow.  The developmental dialogue that will settle the international training issues requires that trainers to participate.

Visitors to this site and members of ISTA are invited to encourage their trainers to register, or at least to find out why they have not already done so.  Let us have their replies, please.

Candidates who have been put forward for registration, and have been invited, are listed below.

FINDING A TRAINER

There are 2 reliable ways to finding a trainer -

(a)   if you have bought your S.C.E.N.A.R. device from an ISTA-Registered Supplier, this supplier will have provided you with the name(s), and possibly timetable for training, of suitably qualified and ISTA- registered trainers;

(b)   if you bought your device elsewhere, or have had it for some time and wish to take up professional training, select a trainer suitable for your device from the list of ISTA-Registered Trainers provided on this site.

In registering, a trainer agrees -

  • to adhere to ISTA's Code of Training
  • to follow the guide principles on training published from time to time by ISTA
  • to attend annual refresher training courses for trainers
  • to keep abreast of the latest developments in S.C.E.N.A.R. and in training techniques
  • to coach students to success in prescribed ISTA exams (when introduced)
  • to offer students an opportunity to repeat indefinitely previously taken courses
  • to offer ISTA-Members special repeat-rates at their events
  • to consider with ISTA feedback provided on them from trainees and third parties

The source of the published information, on each Registered Trainer or Training Organisation, is the registered party itself.  The accuracy of all information, is therefore entirely theirs; they are also responsible for maintaining its currency.   The only responsibility ISTA assumes is that of faithfully reproducing information provided to it in written form and to insist on the correction of errors that it is or is made aware of.

The value of all listings will be enhanced by feedback from buyers, users, practitioners and patients. To encourage such feedback, we have made it easy to submit feedback against each entry.

INVITATIONs TO REGISTER extended to ........

(this list is growing, it should not be taken to be comprehensive; we apologise to those trainers whose name does not appear here or amongst the ISTA-Registered Trainers on any given date - that is entirely due to the youth of this website and our need to rely on nominations from our members and site-visitors; the category under which trainers have been listed may by definition change; some of these candidates for registration may not survive ISTA's evaluation process and will be removed until such time that they are considered ready - reflecting the essentially supporting nature of ISTA, we will assist anybody, genuinely wishing to become an ISTA-Registered Trainer, in achieving their goal)
