InsurancE

ISTA arranged Medical Malpractice insurance is currently only available to UK & Irish ISTA Members.

UK Insurance

Irish Insurance

Insurance will soon be obligatory in most countries of the world;  in order to become a registered member of ISTA insurance, where available, is obligatory.

We are aware that insurance premia in some countries can be very high and intend to negotiate the same competitive rates for our members in countries in which the numbers of members warrant.

It would help enormously if you could provide the contact details of insurance brokers and insurance companies in your countries who are known to consider insuring new and alternative disciplines.  With your help we shall be able to put more national and international insurance schemes in place.

Those making their own insurance arrangements in Ireland and the UK are reminded that ISTA requires medical malpractice cover as well as professional indemnity; the latter alone is not sufficient.  The difference, in its simplest terms, is that under malpractice cover the practitioner is an independent health-care provider, whereas under professional indemnity cover the practitioner is required to work under supervision of a medical doctor.
