WHICH SCENAR - Comparisons & historyNote : As throughout this Website, opinions expressed by named guest-contributors are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of ISTA. The following was written in February 2005 by Dr Irena Kossovskaia, a former eye-surgeon and one of the most experienced SCENAR practitioners internationally. It is being reproduced here, with permission, from OneMedicine (at yahoogroups). Part-1 Which SCENAR is a SCENAR Part-4 Mother's Line vs Let Line : Friend or Foe Part-5 The Other Scenars and the "Wannabes" Part-6 The Cosmodic Era is Coming
Easy Print & Sizing Version [more up to date & with pictures]
It was so much easier few years ago, in 1997, when the SCENAR just found its way out of Russia… Whoever wanted to buy it in the West (only a few brave enthusiasts at that point), had to choose from two manufactures and few basic models only, all from Russia. SCENAR 97.4 from OKB Ritm just came into existence, and Dr. Karasev’s LET Medical was offering the 500 and 600 SCENAR series. That was it! No confusion over which is a genuine SCENAR and which is not – they were all genuine. No misrepresentations, copycats, unauthorized manufacturing, misuse of experimental and practical data, aggressive marketing campaigns, or any other ‘growing pains’ of the technology that revolutionizes a big field of human knowledge. Nowadays, we live through all these pains – and more. Now potential buyers face a very difficult choice of models, suitable to their particular needs, or a trainer, who can comprehensively explain how to understand and operate this Russian ‘Star Trek’ machine, so that it achieves its full potential. Yet more importantly is how to get ‘the real thing’, whether this is a device or a trainer. This little essay will attempt to give you certain guidelines in this new and chaotic SCENAR world. It is based on personal experience of working with the technology, its ‘major players’, and various devices for almost 10 years. It does not pretend to be an objective review. It is simply some observations and conclusions that you may find helpful browsing ‘the SCENAR fair’. Part 1. Which SCENAR is a SCENAR? First of all, the main challenge of anyone that is just entering the arena is to determine which model, out of more than a dozen on the market, are ‘genuine’ SCENARs, which are ‘SCENAR-like’ devices, and which have nothing to do with the SCENAR at all, in spite of the claims on their manufacturers. This challenge presents a problem even for the originators of the technology. On the X International SCENAR conference in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in September of this year discussions on ‘what to consider a SCENAR’ were long, emotional, and not always constructive. The discussions were initiated by ISTA (International Scenar Technology Association), a non-profit membership organization with the head-quarters in the UK (website www.scenartech.com), whose mandate is to unite the SCENAR world and centralize all available SCENAR information, as well as to set the standards for the field. ISTA is relatively new, and in order to live up to its mandate it needs certain landmarks in the chaotic SCENAR world. The definition of ‘what is a SCENAR device’ is the cornerstone of its activity. The starting point for that definition was ‘a SCENAR is the device produced by OKB Ritm and its rightful licensees only’. After a few hours of highly emotionally-charged arguments, the definition expanded to ‘the device designed by any of the 5 holders of the original patent’. Some more adrenalin in the bloodstream – and we had ‘a SCENAR is the device that produces the typical SCENAR signal’. That basically brings us back to the ‘classical’ SCENARs from OKB Ritm & Co and Dr. Karasev’s LET Medical. Everyone seemed to compromise on this last definition for the time being. ‘The SCENAR-type devices’ were agreed to be adaptive stimulators with the shape of a signal that is close to the classical SCENAR impulse, and that produce clinical effects similar to the classical SCENAR effects. The major objection of the SCENAR-patriarchs against these devices was that the classical SCENAR research and clinical data were being used for unauthorized promotion. “Let them collect their own data!” – a very justifiable complain, from my point of view. Dr. Alexander Revenko even said that any SCENAR-type device has its merits and strong, as well as weak, points with regards to its clinical applications, and in the ideal world a practitioner would have several different SCENAR devices at his/her disposal to use the optimal one in a particular clinical situation. So this is where we stand at this point with regards to the SCENAR definition. Discussions were never completely finalized, and in the future we may yet witness some conceptual shifts, which hopefully ISTA will inform us all about. However, one thing is clear - if a machine under question does not produce the SCENAR-like signal and does not have all anticipated clinical SCENAR effects, it has nothing to do with SCENAR. Regretfully, the general consensus about the well-known DENAS was just that – it has nothing to do with SCENAR. I’d like to conclude this part of my little essay with the words of the original SCENAR designer Alexander Karasev, “SCENARs must be various – expensive, effective, simple, cheap. The only SCENARs we do not need are the unreliable ones and those which price would not conform to the quality. No one will agree with monopoly of “genuine” SCENARs (the classical SCENARs – I.K.) on the market.. Again, various manufacturers will create competition, i.e. promote progress!” They say, adjust your attitude – and your outlook will follow. Alexander is one of the happiest people I know… We say that SCENAR is a method of influencing the human body (self-controlled energo-neuro-adaptive regulation - as North Americans would say, quite a tongue-twister); as well as the name of the device family (self-controlled energo-neuro-adaptive regulators). This family is rapidly growing. For simplicity, in this essay I will be referring to both classical SCENARs and SCENAR-type devices as just SCENARs. In the beginning, there was mostly the SCENAR-035, or 'troika', as it is pronounced in Russian. The Grandmother of SCENARs (for some unexplainable reason I think the SCENAR is female). It was a good, reliable, stable, and effective model. Just like your grandmother's old car - not very pretty on the outside, in an ugly black rectangular case, yet nevertheless very functional. SCENAR-035 is known mostly just inside Russia, and some doctors work with it even now. In fact, those almost unbelievable SCENAR results reported by Dr. Yuri Gorfinkel in 1998 in his famous Summary of individual results (which appears all over the SCENAR literature) were obtained mostly with the SCENAR-035. This model was designed by Dr. Karasev and massively produced by OKB Ritm. It is a relic now.
In 1997 OKB Ritm launched a '97'series of SCENARs. Models 97.0 and 97.2 can still be seen on the Ritm's website www.scenar.com.ru, switch to the English version), even though they did not have a chance to a good life because of suppression by The Mother of SCENARs – the 97.4 model. It was (and still is) the most successful successor of the 'troika'. It was born at the time as SCENAR was stepping out of Russia - that's why this model is so well known in the West. It replaced SCENAR-035 almost everywhere, being more convenient, modern, though still carrying the bulky rectangular 'remote control' design. The manufacturing culture has left its marks (on the outside as well as inside the unit). 97.4 is like your favorite truck - it doesn't really matter how it looks as long as it does what it suppose to. SCENAR 97.4 gets the job done. Later on, The Mother was cloned by its creators. The features of 97.4 were incorporated into several variations of it, manufactured by different companies around the globe (under the Ritm's license). There was Kosmed in Europe, Neuroscenar 97.4 in the USA (both the splitting image of 97.4), Space Healer in Hong Kong (simplified to the extreme 97.4, kind of 'Mini-me'). All these machines did a lot of good, helping many people regain the state of health and spreading awareness about the SCENAR technology, because all of them openly admitted their family ties to the SCENAR and used the SCENAR research in their promotional materials. Just as Alexander Karasev said, 'various manufacturers will create competition, and thus promote progress!' These devices didn't really compete with each other or with classical SCENARs yet; not enough of them have been released into the market, but they did promote progress. A few modifications made by Ritm's engineers evolved the SCENAR 97.4 into 97.4+ (consequently also Neuroscenar 97.4+ in the USA), also a very successful and effective classical SCENAR that is quite liked in the SCENAR community. Initially it had the typical rectangular look of a Ritm's device, and that is how it is still looks on Ritm's website. At the same time, Ritm began working on a new machine, which was tentatively called '2003 model' and had a completely new look. On Ritm's site it is presented as the SCENAR-NT 'with graphic display of information'… and from this point a mystery begins. It looks like the new Ritm device was never actually born. It also looks like the plastic cases designed for it now carry the 97.4+ content. All of this is very confusing, at least from my point of view. You order the 97.4+ from Ritm - and you get a device with a new design and also with the letters GS or AS on top of it (God only knows what it stands for, hopefully for the 'Adaptive Stimulator'). However, the paperwork says that you've got the SCENAR 97.4+. So you go to their site to clarify the confusion - and see there the old rectangular unit. Huh?.. An almost identical unit (I mean, the old lady 97.4+ in a new dress), with a few minor modifications is now being produced in Holland under the name of RITMSCENAR. At least they have this name written right on the case – and their website has the matching information! So that's where we stand at the moment with regards to The Mother's SCENAR 97.4 family, which lives under the roof of OKB Ritm and its affiliates. We have 'the 97 generation', mostly represented now by:
The Mother's family is large and has spread all over the world (the USA lost their license to manufacture classical SCENARs though). However, technology-wise it did not evolve much since 1997, and it doesn't look like the situation is going to change in the near future. Are we witnessing a sunset of a great generation? Is it possible that this generation will be 'gone with the wind' a few years from now? And if so, what will the new generation look like? Where is it coming from? What is going to happen to the huge methodological and training base developed specifically for the old generation? Just wondering… The Grandmother (SCENAR-035) had another posterity line under the label of classical SCENARs; it was another big family growing up under the roof of Alexander Karasev’s LET Medical. You can look at the evolutionary spiral of those devices on the LET Medical website www.scenar.ru (click on English version), in the history section. A lot of machines are shown there, many with different purposes. As Dr. Alexander explains, "My devices have different purposes for application. It is impossible to create a GOOD device that would be suitable absolutely in any situation!!" However, he still seems to have favorites amongst his babies. I know for a fact that he has particularly tender feelings towards the SCENAR-612 model, which is now out of production. The development of LET Medical SCENARs went through the 500, the 600, and now is in the 700 series. Here is what Alexander says about the break-through in the SCENAR evolution that is in his newest model (SCENAR-735). "I tried to advance the device (model 035) in technical aspect in the 1980-s but then gave this up. The real enhancement in effect of treatment was using microresonances and information transfer in the 735 model. All other features gave only little improvements". "We are partially using some properties of information transfer phenomenon in our 735 models and in greater extent in SCENAR-SCREEN equipment to involve the whole body in the process of treatment, together with the technology of "mirroring" information, to enhance the effect of self-treatment and protection of the operator using the device on a patient from the influence of the information field. Models ENS-03 (and deriving 97 series - I.K.) produced a certain side-effect based on the above phenomena, because they could not provide protection of the operator from informational influence, i.e. while treating a patient, or some time later, the doctor could experience the same symptoms of the disease the patient was treated for." So, that’s where the SCENAR evolution is going. The 735 model (in particular, the 735-5Ag version with silver electrodes) is, undoubtedly, the most luxurious device on the market today, the Lamborghini Diablo of SCENARs. Along with the SCENAR, it also incorporates the new COSMODIC technology and focuses on the regenerative abilities of the body, the stem cells, particularly. The reported results are just phenomenal. While the device is expensive, the electronics are of the highest quality, and, in general, the machine is well worth it. 735-5Ag can be even more expensive, if you customize it and replace the silver electrodes with the gold ones, through a special order. I am not sure if this increases effectiveness, but will definitely make your SCENAR unique, something like Princess Grace’s car. 735-5 and 735-5L represent simplified versions of 735-5Ag. They are good and effective units while being reasonably priced, by comparison. There is also a semi-professional 705 device in a little square box that is suitable for self-care, as well as for occasional use in your practice. Overall, it is a quite convenient and reliable device for every day, a hard worker without glamour, the VW Beetle. One of the main features of the 700 series units is almost complete automation. The operator’s involvement in the design of the procedure is minimal. Just watch the figures on the display, compare them in order to select the optimal area for treatment - and stay there waiting for the clever machine to let you know when it’s enough. As our young ones would say, ‘no brainer’. Simple and effective. There are two sides to every coin, though. Considering the bigger picture and the device evolution, complete automation is probably a good thing. By eliminating operator’s miscalculations and errors, it substantially increases the efficiency of therapy, saving you valuable time and efforts. It also allows you to use the unit to its full potential and, very importantly, greatly simplifies the training procedure. Most of the SCENAR training programs, especially of higher levels, are overloaded with information about the Objective mode techniques - very powerful indeed, if performed correctly, but way too sophisticated for the average practitioner. These techniques are designed for the 97.4-type devices and any drastic change in the device’s electronics would shake the very core of the current Objective mode methodology. Operational principles of the 700s almost fully eliminate the need for the Objective mode techniques as we now know them. At this point, I want to avoid any misunderstanding. The 700 units do not jeopardize any of the fundamentals of SCENAR therapy, which are universal. We are still looking for small asymmetries - subjectively and objectively. It is only the method in our Objective search that differs for 735 and 97.4-type devices. In The Mother’s family, the search is complicated and always reflects the operator’s skills and level of training. In 735, the search is automated and done mostly electronically, with minimal input from the operator. As Dr. Karasev puts it, ’the power of SCENAR of OLD generation without excessive training can only be demonstrated by 3% of untrained users, by not over 20% of individuals who got general training, and by 55-60% of users who got multi-level training. But this only relates to OLD SCENAR-technology. The main objective in design of devices of new generation is minimum user’s control and maximum automation. Models of the latest technology can treat the body from any part of it, i.e. you can put the electrode on your finger and treat your heart or whatever else. When our devices are concerned, 70% of users who just read the User’s Guide are successful from the very beginning.’ I am not so sure about the finger yet. The 735’s are excellent devices, but from my experience, they still should to be used on specific small asymmetries, which the User’s Guide and the body’s language can help you find. But then again, you never now what else Alexander Karasev has up his sleeve… According to him, ’the first era of SCENAR-technology has reached its climax and the 7th stage of its development is coming to an end! The new era – COSMODIC technology is knocking at the door and it will not be just a local treatment, but a global correction of the broken-down codes of the whole body.’ Part-4 : The Mother’s family vs LET Medical’s family: friends or foe?
As much as I don’t want to interrupt the flight of your imagination, I have to mention at this point the other side of the ‘coin’ of the complete automation of SCENAR. I may sound too conservative here, but as a practitioner, I still like the good old interaction you observe and feel working with SCENARs of the ‘old generation’. i.e. with The Mother’s family. Your SCENAR becomes an extension of your hand, as well as your entire being. It connects you to a client’s system allowing for a free energy and information transfer that goes both ways. I am pretty sure that this quality, alongside with the SCENAR’s own therapeutic effects, is what makes the SCENAR technology so dramatically, and almost magically, effective. It also explains different therapeutic outcomes, when the same treatment techniques and the same devices in similar health situations are used by different practitioners.
To me, SCENAR is a tool of systemic interaction. Energy and informational resources of the imbalanced system (the client) need to be complemented by the resources of the stronger and better balanced systems surrounding it (the SCENAR and the therapist), in order to regain the state of balance (i.e. the state of health). I am not going to go into details of interactions within this triangle (it’s a topic for another discussion), but will simply mention that at the end, each part of the triangle acquires a stable and balanced state. There is a small chance that if the client’s system is so badly imbalanced, that, with the open channel of information transfer, it will temporarily affect the therapist – and sometimes even the device (believe it or not)! However, strong systems can usually handle that with ease. (That’s where the old truth ‘physician, heal thyself’ starts really making sense.)
The SCENAR’s ability to facilitate energy and information transfer between living systems is one of the greatest advantages of this technology, in my opinion, and I am just not sure that putting limitations on this ability by blocking information transfer between the client and the therapist won’t also limit our chances to see the practical magic of SCENAR in action.
On the other hand, maybe SCENARs of the new generation will not limit anything, but rather take it to another level. They will be the mirrors for the physical body while a therapist reflects the client’s mental and spiritual essence. We will probably know more when we have more ‘new generation’ SCENARs around and accumulate more empirical evidence.
At this point, those of us who worked with both 97.4-type and 735 devices tend to have a similar opinion with regards to ‘the therapist – the device’ interaction, in both cases. The Mother’s family machines, working independently, at the same time somehow energetically connect you to the client, amplifying your natural powers as a healer. The 735 seems to have ‘a mind of its own’. You, as the practitioner, become pretty much ‘the one holding the machine’ – which, of course, does not prevent you from connecting to the client on a different level and uninterruptedly concentrating your efforts on the subtle matters of deeper healing layers.
Even though the difference in interactive abilities (‘practitioner-wise’) of both families of classical SCENARs is quite noticeable, it cannot be quantified. We cannot simply say that one is better or worse than the other – they are just different. The truth of the matter is that we need both. Sometimes you strongly feel that your close energetic connection to a client will be beneficial and reach for your 97.4; other times, you intuitively distance yourself but don’t want to lose the efficiency of your treatment and use the 735.
Paraphrasing Dr. Alexander Revenko, in a better world, a practitioner will have at his/her disposal a few various SCENAR models to choose from, depending on each situation. I would say, in an ideal world, we will not need SCENARs at all. We will not need devices to connect to each other and balance each other’s energy fields in our daily interactions. SCENARs will be replaced by our own hands led by the wisdom of unconditional love.
In the meanwhile, we still need the SCENAR fair.
Part 5 - The other SCENARs – and the ‘Wannabes’ I must also mention that The Grandmother (SCENAR-035) actually was quite sneaky, having other children outside of the main family. They were raised by others, under different family names, but most of them tried to prove and maintain their bloodlines to the noble SCENAR family. I am talking about Prologue, ENART (both are introduced by INVET), AcuScen (designed and manufactured by Coloyaro in Russia and Acuvision in the UK), Fenzian (designed by Dr. James Colhurst in the UK), and even the ‘black sheep’ DENAS (did I forget anyone?). Unfortunately, I do not have personal experience in working with all of these devices, only with some of them. Therefore, my review is going to be ‘incomplete by default’. However, I still want to share with you what I do know, while apologizing, in advance, for the informational gaps, as well as for being somewhat subjective. To the best of my knowledge, the Prologue device (can be viewed at www.invet.net) was conceived quite a few years ago, and incorporated the ideas of the SCENAR legend Dr. Yuri Gorfinkel, whose life and work represents the quintessence of SCENAR therapy. Dr. Yuri has been working on this device together with a group of engineers outside of OKB Ritm (even though he was always considered a part of the Ritm team), and I don’t know how far this work has progressed by the time of his early leaving. Prologue appears to be a SCENAR-type device, quite efficient and reliable, but a bit ‘rough’ on the body (just look at the shape of it! J). According to those working with the machine, Prologue is excellent for treatment of musculo- skeletal disorders. I did not have a chance to work with new ENART devices and cannot give you any opinions on them. They must be VERY good though, because INVET states the follows on the website: ‘As we refine and develop ENART technology, new developments will no doubt eclipse the Scenar device, and it will slowly become history, superseded by Enart devices’. This statement reminds me the old Russian fable about a very small dog, the Chihuahua type, who was barking at the elephant trying to prove to the other dogs its own bravery and value. The statement sounds especially intriguing considering that the INVET site does not present anything new conceptually or technologically, it just paraphrases the SCENAR literature. I also cannot give you any opinion on the Fenzian device, as I’ve never even seen one. Dr. James Colhurst, who was the pioneer of bringing SCENAR to the UK back in 1998, developed it after being inspired by the excellent results he was getting in his primarily homeopathic practice with the SCENAR. Supposedly, it is also a SCENAR-type device, however Dr. James denies that it is in fact a SCENAR. What I can give you, is a very well informed opinion on is the Acuscen. This device has been my favorite for the last 3 years. It is a SCENAR-type device with the signal shape very close to a classical SCENAR. Acuscen is almost indistinguishable from The Mother’s family of devices with regards to its clinical applications and effects in acute and chronic conditions. In a nutshell, it is the 97.4 without its weaknesses (poor design, very poor manufacturing culture, analog technology, dark screen etc.). It is digital, elegant, ergonomic, very well made - and with all that priced similarly to 97.4, or even cheaper. It also has a great semi-professional version, which we recommend for home use to non-professionals. Many of our clients end up buying one. Acuscen, in my opinion, belongs in the 'best buy' category; quality versus price. It is a well designed, comfortable, efficient, and reliable Buick Century (if you haven't guessed yet, that is my car). Alexander Karasev thinks that there is nothing new in Acuscen, and ‘what’s the use of the new if it gives you nothing new (A.K.)’. I can only partially agree with that. It all depends on what you identify as ‘new’. For Alexander, apparently, it is the device concept, functions, electronics. From that point, there is indeed nothing new in Acuscen. It is virtually identical to the 97.4 in functioning. What is new are the little things, like the ergonomic plastic case (the same as the 735 uses), two electrodes (90 degrees to each other) instead of one, slightly curved shape of one of the electrodes to work on the curves of the body, back-lit screen, AA batteries with standard terminals (rechargeable batteries allowed), IR that stays on the screen until the next reading is taken, ability to pre-program up to 5 of your favorite settings etc. What is new is that it is designed with the practitioner in mind, and for me this is New. I cannot resist from telling you a little secret about the birth of the Acuscen. This device was not a child of love, but rather, a result of extreme frustration. The Acuscen’s designer, Dr. Romen Avakyan (an electronic engineer by the grace of God, the inventor of the passive radar and the designer of many energy medicine devices, including Acuvision - the unique device for acupuncture points visualization), together with his partners some time ago was helping OKB Ritm in developing the UK market. 20-25% of the 97.4 devices sent to the UK were coming back as faulty. Tired of listening to the endless complains on poor manufacturing and design of such expensive devices, and feeling ashamed for so badly represented Russian electronics, Dr. Romen ended up building the Acuscen. You just never know what engines push the progress… Let’s now talk about the SCENAR ‘wannabes’ - the devices that would like to be considered SCENARs, but do not have enough SCENAR qualities in spite of their claims. The leader in this group is, undoubtedly, the ‘sadly famous’ DENAS. All SCENAR engineers agree that DENAS devices do not produce the classical SCENAR signal and, therefore, the clinical effects of two devices should differ substantially, which they do. Relatively effective for immediate pain relief, DENAS does not seem to be capable of resolving chronic issues. That’s what Alexander Karasev says about the DENAS creation. ‘The device, or rather documentation, stolen by Vernik (Paytigorsk), that later on was used for DENAS, was not complete. It lacked characteristics for tuning the device. Without these details it was impossible to produce the device. They had to spy on the lacking information and gather it piece by piece for about 12 years. Only then they could make SCENAR-032A, a device with rather poor properties due to inaccurate tuning. When they remade it into DENAS, the device lost all its therapeutic propertiess.’ All the above does not mean that DENAS does not have a place in the market. However, it should not be the same place as that of the SCENAR. Unfortunately, the DENAS creators think differently, openly claiming that their device is the improved SCENAR and, therefore, can easily ‘adopt’ the entire impressive informational and clinical SCENAR database. Being so well equipped, DENAS now turns around and launches a well structured marketing campaign painfully resembling MLM. Now you can see DENAS everywhere, even on e-bay, modestly priced and good looking. An uninformed consumer thinks that he is getting a really good deal. After he does not get the results as advertised, his disappointment and complaints will be addressed towards the SCENAR technology in general. That’s the main concern of the SCENAR community with regards to DENAS. Lately, we are observing another phenomenon in our chaotic and dynamic SCENAR world - obvious SCENAR-type devices that do not want to have anything to do with the SCENAR. I am talking about the latest news - InterX 5000. The device was born and raised, apparently, by the same group in the States that had previously manufactured and distributed Neuroscenar 97.4 under Ritm’s license (they operate under a different name now). Shortly after the group lost their license, they, surprisingly fast, came up with the InterX 5000, which, also surprisingly, functionally almost mirrors the 97.4+. It has a different look though and the word ‘SCENAR’ is not even mentioned in the InterX information. What an intriguing chain of events. I will leave it up to you to guess what the reality of the situation is and why it is so. But I would like to suggest, if I may, to respect the approach taken by the InterX 5000 creators and treat the new device completely apart from the SCENAR family. As far as I am concerned, InterX 5000 is not a SCENAR, just like DENAS is not. I’d like to conclude ‘The SCENAR fair’ quoting Alexander Karasev again (after all, he is the SCENAR inventor and the one who still carries it forward). ‘Many people think they can make SCENARs themselves, maybe even better than me, and I do not see any need to make them change their mind. They are just not aware that all they are doing is only re-inventing a wheel, which has been invented a long ago.’ Part-6 The Cosmodic Era is Coming SCENAR 715 & 735
Attention, all the browsers of the SCENAR Fair! There is a new arrival to the SCENAR family. Two beautiful ladies are being introduced by LET Medical: twin sisters EX715Ag and EX715Au. According to Alexander Karasev, the 715 model was one of the fastest to go through the full development cycle. It took only about a year for the device to go from the drawing board and into the user’s hands (compared to the typical six-seven years). I guess that’s because the features and particularities of the 715 almost ideally fit its designated market niche. The 715 model was contemplated as the ‘exclusive personal SCENAR’. Fully automatic (all therapeutic functions, even the energy level, are regulated automatically), conveniently small and ergonomic (the size of a cell phone and very comfortable to hold); plus it looks and works in ways that would make any gadget freak loose a night sleep over. It has a quite unusual black screen that displays an awful lot of information about the current status of your device and the treatment procedure; yet all of this is sensibly laid out and you never get lost in the abundance of data. I have to confess; every time I get a new SCENAR model in my hands, I start using it right away without reading any operator’s manual. My logic is that if I can figure out how to efficiently operate the device without instructions, then the machine is ‘user-friendly’ enough - and that’s what I want for my clients, especially when concerning the personal SCENAR. I read the manual later, though, to see how much of what I guessed actually matches the manufacturer’s recommendations. Well, when practicing the above, I found it rather difficult initially with the 97.4-type devices in figuring out what to do with all the functions. The hardest time I had was with the little personal AUTOSCENARs made in Holland and their Russian analogue, CHENS SCENARs from OKB Ritm – I was almost lost without instructions there. I had a much easier time with the 735, but the instruction manual still differed quite a bit from what I guessed. The 715 did not present any problem at all. It was almost like getting to know your new cell phone – you play with the little signs and images on the screen, saying to yourself once in a while, “Aha! That’s what this thing is for…” The instruction manual simply confirms your findings. It’s really straight forward and fool-proof. The device allows you to choose the mode of action, the language, the brightness of the screen, to set the timer and to regulate the sound. You can even make it to vibrate like a cell phone! It has five basic modes: the assessment mode (for choosing the treatment area); the universal healing mode (good for anything); and three modes targeting the upper, middle and lower part of the body, respectively. The last three modes are said to have mostly cosmetic applications. In reality, they are great treatment modes for any dysfunction in the targeted area. The more acute the problem, the better and faster the results. As the device intended primarily for personal use, the 715 is at its best during therapy of acute processes and intensive complaints. And does it ever do the job! In these situations, the typical SCENAR effects of the 715 are faster and more dramatic than I’ve probably seen with any other SCENAR device, exceeding even those of the 735. Here’s just one example. Flying to Russia from Toronto a month ago, we had an emergency situation on board of the aircraft. One of the passengers, a middle-aged Middle Eastern woman, who didn’t speak any English, developed a severe chest pain accompanied with breathing difficulty. As her daughter tried to explain, she had a history of asthma, as well as a serious heart condition. All of her medication was in her luggage, with no access to it, and they didn’t have anything except for aspirin and an oxygen mask in the cabin. Neither of those helped, and the poor woman was quickly turning blue coughing her lungs out and grabbing her chest in pain. As, seemingly, the only doctor on board, I joined the concerned crew members, who were trying to decide what to do. There was no time for questioning or any other type of diagnostic procedure. I simply did a 30’ assessment of the upper chest area with the 715, put the device on the chosen point on the sternum and kept it there for about 5 min., followed by 3-4 min. on the T1-T2-T3 vertebras. That was enough to completely eliminate pain and restore the breathing function. The rest of the flight was uneventful. I still don’t know for sure if it was an angina or an asthma attack, or both (I’d vote for angina though), but the fact is that the 715 helped to resolve a very acute and serious health emergency in virtually no time. Needless to say, all crew members were asking for information on the ‘Star Trek’ device… The 715 is very effective in any acute situation, including the acute stage (or relapse) of a chronic process. However, with the ‘dormant’ chronic problems this device behaves differently than the other SCENARs. The reason being that the 715 is not really a SCENAR… It is COSMODIC. At this point we need some explanations. I will present them to you the same way they were given to me by Alexander Karasev, the original SCENAR and COSMODIC inventor, and the father of 715. There are three ways of dealing with pain in the human body (I am using ‘pain’ here as a generic term meaning any bodily dysfunction). You can overpower it, putting the stronger signal on top of the pain signal. This is the way the TENS unit works. You can also ‘add to it’, blending the device signal with the pathology signals and making the pain signal more ‘visible’ or perceivable. That way the body gives a stronger re-action on your action, activating its adaptive mechanisms and producing a stronger healing response. This is the way homeopathy works – and the SCENAR, which we often call ‘the electronic homeopathy’. There is also a third way. You can directly strengthen the adaptive response, not challenging the body by increasing the pathologic signal, but simply helping it by adding to its healing efforts. That’s COSMODIC. As you can see, COSMODIC is not SCENAR; it is a conceptually different technology. Alexander Karasev first came up with this idea in 1992; partially implemented it in his SCENAR VX735v5Ag model (which has, alongside with the SC=SCENAR also the CS=COSMODIC mode) – and finally made his 715 fully COSMODIC. COSMODIC amplifies the body’s own healing reactions. It looks like the device works somewhat similar to a personal trainer: ‘cleaning up’ the healing programs and reminding the body how to perform adaptation more efficiently. Once the body remembers, the response is dramatic. The body even remembers how to regenerate, and can restore tissues and organs into their original states. Alexander says that they studied a client with a bad case of an ulcerative stomach disease. Visually, during a gastroscopy the stomach lining was covered with scars and fresh ulcers. After treatments with various models of SCENAR, fresh ulcers rapidly healed with formation of gentle scars. The client clinically recovered – until the next relapse, which revealed new fresh ulcers. This time he was treated with the model VX735v5Ag using COSMODIC mode. All fresh ulcers healed with NO scars. After several courses of treatments the stomach lining completely regenerated. Apparently, there are also great results with regeneration of heart muscle and a single case of evidence of regeneration of lungs and kidneys. All these healing miracles (and who knows how much more it can potentially be; the study just began) may be attributed to the activation of stem cells in the body, but a lot of expensive research is required to reveal the exact mechanisms of this type of healing. Oddly enough, one of the most difficult objects for COSMODIC to work with, when regeneration is concerned, is the skin, apparently because of the close relationships and resemblance between the skin and the nervous system. One of the main reasons of degeneration of skin cells is dehydration – and one of the ways to attract water back to the cells is to enrich the cytoplasm with gold ions. This can be done by using special electrodes on the 715 made of gold (to be exact, out of a special blend of gold and silver; purely gold electrodes are way too soft). That’s how the EX715Au came to existence. Apparently, it’s quite amazing what this little machine can do for your face (or any other piece of the saggy aging skin) – if you can afford it. Gold electrodes almost double the price of the device, which is not cheap to start with. This is not to say that the standard silver electrodes of the EX715Ag will not have any regenerative or rejuvenating effects on the skin. The 715 has three modes to deal with cosmetic issues (on the upper, middle, and lower parts of the body), and it does it quite efficiently. Besides, silver is very good for promoting the detoxification of the cells. Alexander figured that cosmetic applications are extremely important for a personal therapy device – and I cannot argue with this. Man is vain. To sum up the above: alongside with cosmetology, the 715 will be very good for treatment of various disorders in situations when the body is ALREADY working on the problem. That covers all acute processes (including injuries or traumas), acute and sub-acute stages of chronic processes, and even chronic disorders that give the client certain subjective sensations (that is pretty much what a personal therapy device is intended for anyway). In all these situations the body recognizes the problem and works on it. However, dormant chronic processes respond to the 715 in a particular way. In this situation local adaptive reactions are turned off and COSMODIC does not have much to work with. Therefore, the healing process will undergo two stages. On the first stage, the device helps the body to recognize the problem and initiate an adaptive healing response. After this is achieved, it is recommended to stop treatments for a few days (usually 3-5) and let the body accumulate changes and develop adaptive reaction. And now, on the second stage, when the body is well on a healing cycle, the 715 can help to go through the healing program smoothly and efficiently - and with the slow pace. No healing crisis’s (for the designated home therapy device it is important). Slowly but surely (or, as we say in Russia, ‘hurry up slowly’). The 715 is not a drama queen, unlike the 735.
The 735, being designed as a professional device, moves the healing dynamics really fast! It has three modes to choose from: CS=COSMODIC, SC=SCENAR, and SM=SCENAR MAX. But here is the catch: according to Alexander, the CS and SC modes are not purely COSMODIC or SCENAR, they have a part of each in both. So, when the screen says ‘CS’, it is actually ‘rather CS than SC’ – and when it says ‘SC’, it is ‘rather SC than CS’. It sounds complicated, but there is ‘a method to this madness’. When the 735 is in CS mode, it works well with initially strong adaptive reactions. This mode challenges the body a bit (the SCENAR component) but mostly further enhances and ‘trains’ the adaptive body response. CS is good to use on children, because their adaptivity is still uncompromised. In the SC mode, the 735 provokes the body on developing a stronger adaptive response through SCENAR – and additionally strengthens and optimizes the adaptive reactions through COSMODIC helping the body to complete the healing cycle faster. This mode is, therefore, quite universal and good for acute, as well as chronic conditions of various kinds (in which case it may provoke a healing crisis that requires careful professional management). The SM mode is beneficial for the weakening adaptivity – it is particularly good for elderly people. Going back to the 715, there is another unique feature worth mentioning - an interactive help (working version will be available in the near future). The device will let you select from a list the particular disorder you are dealing with and show the areas recommended for treatment. Later on interactive help can be filled up with various directories (for example, for the diseases of organ systems, cosmetology, emergency situations, etc.). Various treatment tactics and protocols may also be programmed into the unit using a removable memory chip, which can be updated through the Internet… Are we getting closer to the ‘Star Trek’ device, or what? By the way, the word ‘COSMODIC’ did not derive from ‘cosmetology’, as many people tend to think. It came from the word ‘COSMOS’. This makes total sense to me. Strengthening the healing reactions of the body, re-training adaptation, cleaning cellular memory and reminding the body how to heal and regenerate as in its original design – all these increase the level of systemic coherence, restoring our connection to the much bigger whole, which we are all a part of. Cosmos is living and intelligent, and Coherent Energy Technologies (CET) like SCENAR and COSMODIC just heal our self-inflicted separation from it. As the level of human consciousness rises, COSMODIC and other CETs will inevitably become a primary form of assistance in healing. The COSMODIC era is coming.
