BUYING A S.C.E.N.A.R. DEVICE

Three questions frequently echo around the world-wide web -

• which S.C.E.N.A.R. device should I buy?
• which supplier shall I buy from?
• who wil train me in the use of the selected S.C.E.N.A.R. device

There are a number of subsidiary questions too, but under this heading we simply provide guidance on how you can find your own answers to these 3 key questions.

ISTA, due to its avowed neutral and non-profit stance, can only provide information that will help to answer questions.  This information has to come from external, third parties, as well as any parties directly affected.  Therefore feedback is an important source of information towards building up such a factual data and information bank.

Before considering which model of device you wish to purchase, and from which supplier, be clear about what you are looking for - will be you using the device for self-treatment, for home use, as another implement in your box of healing tools, etc.

Then look at our list of devices, grouped under a number of headings (placed in each group by the suppliers themselves), and research your selected device further.  This site, or the sites of ISTA-registered suppliers, to which provide links, will have plenty of information on each model.

To launch this site, we will be inviting each supplier to become an ISTA-registered supplier.  We are currently assembling a list of these suppliers and their contact details.  The invitations will give every supplier an equal amount of time to respond, and only at the end of this period will all those who were invited as well those who responded, together with their information, be listed here.  Expect to find them listed here by the end of September 2004.

Those who respond with the requested detail, will also have an opportunity to become ISTA-registered suppliers.  This they will be entitled to be known as, assoon as they have signed the ISTA Code of Business Practices, which is shown below. 

Those who decline to provide information or decline to sign-up to ISTA's Business Code, will simply appear as "Listed".  ISTA usually know little or nothing about a Listed Supplier; their inclusion in ISTA's listings should not be construed to constitute any form of endorsement by ISTA. 

Any supplier of S.C.E.N.A.R., or S.C.E.N.A.R.-related, devices and merchandise not included in our listings, or wishing to change from "Listed" to "ISTA-Registered" status, is welcome to make application at any time.  An ISTA-Registered Supplier in breach of ISTA's Code of Business Practice will be invited to rectify this breach in a timely mannerp; in the event of failure to do so, this supplier risks temporary or permanent removal from ISTA's list, and can expect to be shown as de-listed.

Please note that the source of the published information, on each ISTA-registered supplier, is the registered party itself. The accuracy of all information against registered and listed entries is entirely dependent on the providers of this information; they are also responsible for maintaining its currency. ISTA assumes no responsibility beyond that of faithfully reproducing information provided to it in verifiable written form. The value of these listings will be enhanced by feedback from buyers, users, practitioners and patients. To encourage such feedback, we have made it easy to submit feedback against each entry.
